1. Aim and remuneration of the competition
The Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company, in accordance with its traditions of encouraging innovation announces a competition with the title ‘Zsolnay Art Grant’. We expect applications, which can be realised by using Zsolnay technologies (eosin, pyrogranite, porcelain faience) and can be turned into marketable products. Representatives of any form of art: industrial artists, fine artists, painters, sculptors, gold- and silversmiths, furniture designers – may apply who, with contemporary design make suggestions for the development of products with new décor and shape.

Applications are to be made in the following categories:
- tableware
- decorative objects
- figurines
- jewellery
- furniture inlays
- building ceramics
- other

Winners of the competition will be selected by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company on the basis of the recommendation from the Zsolnay Art Council.
The winner of the Zsolnay Art Grant will receive a grant of HUF 200,000 per month, and can realise the submitted ideas with the professional assistance of the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company, which will also provide the necessary materials and equipment. We can provide free accommodation in the guest room on the site of the company group if required.
Length of commission: 1-3 months

2. Those eligible to apply
Material from any branch of art that can be listed in one of the above categories, or feasible plans can be submitted.
Ideas created for other competitions, ones unconnected with Zsolnay technologies or ones that have already been realised may not participate.
Employees of the Zsolnay company group are allowed to participate.
Artists who applied for the Zsolnay Art Grant at an earlier date may also apply irrespective of their earlier results.

3. Formal requirements of the applications
The competition material must include:
- short professional CV of the artist,
- references,
- concrete product development ideas, with emphasis on introducing the style and creative spirit characteristic of the applicant.
There is no entry fee.
One applicant may submit more than one work.
The winners of the competition are selected by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company, based on the recommendation of the Zsolnay Art Council.
The Zsolnay Art Council meets three times a year and the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company awards x grants a year. The Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company informs the winner of the competition within eight workdays following their decision. The company group reserves the right – with consideration to the market orientation of the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory Joint Stock Company - to award the grant at a later date to a person who submitted competition material, which was selected and highly appreciated at the first council meeting following the submission of the application – depending on the then current line of development.
The grant is presented in the presence of the media!
